For your consideration:
Extremely rare 19th century heavy cast iron Urn Ball
Inside there are raised lettering on the inside that read: Front & Back Urn Ball
Cremains were placed inside the two halves and then screwed shut. The Urn ORB was then placed on a special pedestal in the cemetery.
The urn ball has a long screw that threads through one half of the urn ball and connects to the other half and screwed in.
Size: 5-1/2 inches diameter and very heavy.
Condition: Used. Minor rust. The long screw needs to be replaced as it wore down so that it no longer screws in properly.
